Nestling in the glen surrounded by beautiful hills, the cottages are the original outbuildings of a traditional 18th century farm, renovated to the highest standard using, where possible, original features and items.
An ideal base for exploring Cowal, the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Kintyre, the SW Islands, Glencoe and the Island of Bute.
A wide variety of walking and cycling on the doorstep. Located on one of the loop walks, transport can be arranged for drop-off or pick-up of Cowal Way walkers.
Swallows, woodpeckers and red squirrels visit the garden while eagles, harriers, buzzards, red deer, otters and seals inhabit the wider area. Gannents and dolphins are increasingly being spotted in the nearby Kyles of Bute.
Cowal boasts numerous formal gardens and forest trails, and many activities e.g. golfing, fishing (river and loch), pony trekking, quad biking, boat trips, are in easy reach. A sailing school is based in Tighnabruich.
The Kilmodan carved stones are one mile away in the Clachan (village) and the renowned archaeological centre at Kilmartin or historic Iona are a pleasant day trip away.
There is a seasonal shop one mile away. Tighnabruaich (9 miles) and Dunoon (20 miles) have a full range of services.
The local pub and restaurant is in the Clachan and there is an excellent choice of restaurants in the area. Or dine in on locally produced venison, pheasant, scallops, salmon, etc.
